Free birth chart
Enter a birth date, time and place. OMNIA computes your natal chart from ephemeris data, draws the wheel, and writes a reading around it. The chart is free, and so is most of the reading. No sign-up, no card, and nothing about your birth is kept on our servers.
What the chart gives you
Sun through Pluto, plus the Ascendant and Midheaven, each with its exact ecliptic longitude: sign and degree, not just the sign. Retrograde planets are marked as such. The zodiac is tropical, the one almost every Western astrologer works in, and that is stated on the chart rather than left for you to guess.
Houses are Placidus, solved by iteration rather than looked up from a rough table. Above 66.5° of latitude Placidus is geometrically undefined, so a chart born inside the polar circles falls back to whole-sign houses instead of returning a broken wheel. Aspects are the five Ptolemaic ones, conjunction, sextile, square, trine and opposition, drawn inside the wheel with orbs of 8° for the Sun and Moon, 6° for the other planets and 5° to the angles. Applying and separating are told apart.
If you do not know your birth time, say so. The planets are still placed, the Ascendant, Midheaven and houses are left out rather than invented from noon, and the reading says which parts it had to do without. If you know the time but not the exact town, you can type coordinates straight into the place field, in decimal degrees or degrees and minutes, and the time zone is worked out from them.
Where the numbers come from
Positions are computed with astronomy-engine, an open-source ephemeris accurate to about one arcminute for the bodies used here. Every number on the chart, longitudes, cusps, aspect orbs, comes from that deterministic calculation.
The language model in OMNIA never touches the arithmetic. It reads the finished chart and writes the interpretation, and it is not allowed to claim a placement the chart does not contain. If it were switched off tomorrow, the charts would be identical.
The time-zone problem that is easy to get wrong
A birth chart is only as good as the moment it is cast for, and converting local birth time to universal time is where a calculator can quietly fail. Time zones are not constants. They have been redrawn, offset and suspended thousands of times, and the rules that applied on your birthday are often not the rules that apply today.
A concrete case. Between 27 October 1968 and 31 October 1971 the United Kingdom stayed on UTC+1 through the whole year, the British Standard Time experiment. So midnight on 1 January 1970 in London was 23:00 UTC on 31 December 1969, not 00:00 UTC.
A calculator that assumes "London in winter = GMT" puts that birth an hour late. An hour can move the Ascendant a full sign, and every house cusp with it.
OMNIA resolves each birth moment through the IANA time zone database, which carries the historical rules, so offsets that no longer exist are still applied for the dates when they did. Daylight-saving gaps are handled honestly too: if you enter a clock time that never existed on that night, because the clocks jumped over it, the form tells you so and asks for the time either side, instead of silently picking one.
How the reading is built
The reading comes in four sections. Sign names the most striking configuration in the chart, in two or three sentences. Reading is the body, focused on the question you chose, whether that is the whole chart, love, work, money, wellbeing or timing. Guidance is a gentle, practicable direction. Whisper is a single closing line.
The writing works from the chart's actual placements and a curated body of astrological notes, and every placement it cites (planet, sign, house) is checked back against the chart before it reaches you. The whisper is not written fresh each time; it is chosen from a fixed pool by the chart itself, so the same chart with the same question closes the same way, unless you have just seen that line, in which case another is chosen. I spent longer on that pipeline than on the wheel, and I still think it was the right call.
What is free
The chart is free for every visitor. Of the four sections of each reading, three are free, within a daily limit: Sign, Reading and Whisper. No sign-up, no card. Only the Guidance section is kept for subscribers, and the site tells you that plainly at the end of a free reading rather than pushing a button in your face. Pricing.
A card you can keep
Every finished reading can be pressed into a single card: your actual wheel, your Sun, Moon and Ascendant, the elemental balance, and one line from the reading. It is drawn in your browser and never uploaded. The card carries no birth date, no time and no place, only the chart itself.
Privacy
Birth date, time, place and question are used to compute the chart and write the reading, and are never written to a database on our side. The language model receives a digest of positions and enumerations plus the optional question you typed; it never sees your name or exact coordinates. Your browser keeps the form and any readings you save, and you can clear them yourself at any time. There is nothing to delete on our servers, because nothing was kept there. Privacy policy.
A note on the instrument
The site is built as a single page around a brass astrolabe rather than as a dashboard. The astrolabe is not decoration; it turns, and the panel beside it shows where the planets are at this moment, which ones are retrograde, the phase of the Moon and the state of the Earth's magnetic field. The chart itself is cast in the same page, with a short ritual in front of the reveal that takes its time on purpose. Some people find that slow. It is meant to be.
